Mr. Shivan Jamal Agha Al-Doberdani, President of Alfaf Organization for Development and Reconstruction, participated in a specialized workshop held by the Iraqi Development Foundation (IID) in Erbil on December 10-11, 2025. The workshop was titled: “The Importance of Communication between Ministries, Government Institutions, and Civil Society in Countering Violent Extremism in Iraq.” The workshop addressed the importance of strengthening coordination channels between government agencies and civil society organizations to develop more effective mechanisms for reducing extremism and promoting a peaceful and stable environment in the country. The workshop included extensive discussions on the role of national partnerships and the exchange of experiences in supporting efforts to prevent extremism, in addition to reviewing successful programs in the field of peacebuilding and strengthening social cohesion. Al-Doberdani stressed during his speech that confronting violent extremism cannot be achieved without genuine cooperation between state institutions and civil society organizations, noting that the FAF organization believes that promoting dialogue, empowering youth, and supporting community initiatives are essential pillars for protecting society and enhancing its stability.
